Megan Effinger is a Licensed Associate Counselor and Nationally Certified School Psychologist dedicated to supporting individuals and families through emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational challenges. While she works with clients across the lifespan, she holds a particular passion for helping neurodivergent individuals and those navigating learning, behavioral, and emotional differences.
Megan earned her Post-Master's Degree in School Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in 2016 and later completed her Educational Specialist Degree in Counseling at Harding University in 2023. She brings over 11 years of experience as a School Psychologist, providing psychoeducational evaluations, behavioral support, crisis intervention, and guidance for students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Megan's clinical approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, creating a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and behavioral interventions to help clients build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and work toward meaningful goals.
Her areas of focus include autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, learning disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, social skills development, communication difficulties, and relationship dynamics. Megan is especially passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and build confidence in navigating daily life.
Megan strives to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable showing up authentically and exploring opportunities for growth. She believes therapy is a collaborative process and is committed to helping each client build on their strengths and move toward the life they envision for themselves.
In her free time, Megan can be found caring for animals, exploring local restaurants, enjoying true crime documentaries, or spending time outdoors walking and biking with her dogs.
Megan currently offers a self-pay rate of $200 per one hour session or a sliding scale rate of $80 - $166 per one hour session (may be applied for).
