Jeanie is a licensed certified social worker with eight years of licensed experience with both teens and adults. Jeanie’s counseling style is based on being present with a client, not just hearing, but truly listening and being a witness to another. In her client-centered approach, she will want to know what a client wants to address in therapy and will provide a listening space, guidance, insight, and gentle feedback to help create change. She also utilizes a skills-based approach, and a client will leave sessions with new ideas to experiment with and implement in his/her/their life. These skills include mindfulness, emotional intelligence, learning centeredness and grounding, improving self-love, learning the difference between surviving skills and thriving skills, and exploring beliefs and how they create life stories. Jeanie’s goal is to help a client weave together practical behavioral approaches with deep insights to create transformation in life.
Jeanie has twenty years of experience working with people in many different capacities, mostly with non-profit mental health organizations. A large portion of her clinical experience was gained through serving as a social worker at an acute psychiatric hospital in Missoula, Montana. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at University of Montana in Missoula in 2010.
Jeanie is an avid lover of the outdoors and is fond of saying that she moved to Arkansas because it is a “mini-Montana”. Hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, rock climbing, and backpacking are all regular activities. She also enjoys a competitive game of tennis or pickleball.
